Govora is considered the second balneo resort in Europe, considering the number of iodized and brominated waters. There are over 300 historical and art monuments which can be admired in the area, from the neolitic, dacian and roman cultures (as the ones kept in the local museums in Rm. Valcea and Govora, at the archeological sites at Slatioara, Bivolaru, Costesti, or in the Maldaresti Complex ), monasteries like Govora (where the first romanian law book was printed), Horezu – a monument of traditional Romanian architecture, Bistrita , Cozia and lots more. For nature lovers the entire area of Govora – Calimanesti – Caciulata – Cozia is a natural preservation area for flora and fauna, with lots of tracking routs.
